porfirio ? Dating For Baby Boomers ? 4 Tips to Have a Great Time

When you start dating again, there are inevitably issues that you might wonder about. maybe it?s a long time since you had a date. some things in the dating world have changed. Dating for Boomers can be a challenge, more because of a lack of confidence in how this dating thing works, than for any other reason. after you?ve started dating and have had a few dates, or have begun establishing a relationship with someone, you may feel more confident. but in the meantime?

Here are four tips to make your first few dates wonderful:

who will pay the bill? it used to be that the man ALWAYS paid, right? Boomer men are funny about the bill. some are very traditional and are insulted if the woman offers to pay the bill or to split the bill or pay her share of it. others feel like they?re right up with the times and expect to split the bill. others expect to take turns. it?s a ?damned if you do and damned if you don?t? situation for women. so women really ought to think about what makes them comfortable in this situation and then either offer or not. it?s a matter of personal taste. if a guy feels that a woman is taking advantage buy always expecting him to pay, then maybe the woman is not for him. if the man always wants to split the bill and that makes the woman think he?s cheap, then maybe he?s not for her. this is one of those situations that?s easier if you think about it beforehand and then later you can add it to your check list of what you enjoyed and what you didn?t enjoy about your date.

it?s really, really tempting to have a drink, or a couple of drinks. a couple of glasses of wine are relaxing, right? sometimes, alcohol is too relaxing. a few drinks lower your inhibitions, too, and might make you do something that you?ll really rather you hadn?t when you wake up the next morning. a few drinks also might make you think you ought to have a few more drinks. a tipsy date is not attractive.

think about what you?re going to eat. if you?re out to dinner and it?s a second or third date, maybe you should skip the garlic and onion because maybe it?s the night for a first kiss. if you?re comfortable smelling like garlic, that?s up to you. or perhaps you might want to skip a dish full of spinach or bread with poppy seeds if you don?t want food between your teeth. then again may you?re so comfortable with your date that neither of you are worried and you dig right in. Again, it?s something to think about.

Be yourself but not too much yourself! it?s okay if you want to get BBQ sauce all over your face at home and then lick your fingers. on a date, any date, it?s probably not okay. take care that you?re well groomed and dressed for the occasion. Remember what your mother said. Comb your hair and make sure your nails look nice. Early dates are when you and your companion take stock of each other. make a good first or second impression.

Relax and have a good time. even if your date doesn?t turn out to be THE ONE for you, it was still good practice for the next person you date.
